Our Story
Matthew Fischer was born and raised in Ohio, where he started working in construction for a house-builder in high school. He attended college at Wooster College in Ohio, studying history, before moving to the east coast. He started his own custom contracting company in 1980 while living in Somerville, Massachusetts. He now lives in Arlington, Massachusetts, where his business has grown to include a crew of three full time builders.
Matthew Fischer Custom Builder specializes in renovation, remodeling, and addition in the Greater Boston area, having completed jobs in Cambridge, Brookline, Newton, Belmont, Concord, Arlington, and elsewhere. Our work has included large-scale new construction as well as detail and finish work. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality construction and finish carpentry possible through our access to an extensive network of talented and dependable subcontractors and associates.
